Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Close To Downtown Myrtle Beach But Far Enough Away To Enjoy The Peace And Quiet! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
