Tips for getting the perfect rental home experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your family choose date ranges and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Angle Oceanfront King Suite at Fun Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
