How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your group choose trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Holiday Sands 2BR Prime Location Oceanfront Condo! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
