Rental home booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Narrow your Search:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Available June 24 to July 1 one week, ocean front sleeps 8 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
