Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and picking your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. NEW! Charming 3-bedroom house. 1 Block from Ocean and Close to All has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
