Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. B127: Your Ideal Coastal Retreat at Myrtle Beach Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
