Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the best rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and choose your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Baba’s Beach House, S17 at Ocean Lakes has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available online. If not, reach out to the host before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or may be applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
