Strategies to get the optimal vacation home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the best rental:
- To start, have your group decide on trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Fifth House From The Beach- 2 bdrm-2 bath-Sleeps 8 \"Ocean Breeze 913\" has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- To make sure damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
