Rental property booking tips:
When to go & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Backyard Oasis 1 Mile to Beach Golf Cart Friendly has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
