How to book the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Newly updated 12th-floor condo w\/ pools, hot tub, balcony, A\/C, & WiFi - Dogs OK has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
