How to get the best vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Dolphin Cove: 2 BR Oceanfront Condo with Pool has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
