Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Compass Cove Resort Unit 1252 - Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
