Finding the best rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your family commit to dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Beach Front 2 bedroom 2 bath 7th floor condo in the prestigious Brigadune has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before you book the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
