Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Beach Front 2 bedroom 2 bath 7th floor condo in the prestigious Brigadune has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
