Booking the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the bestrental:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Best Deal On The Beach !! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your family.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
During your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
