How to get the best vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and choosing the rightvacation home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beach Getaway Oceanfront\/ Dogs OK! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
