Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Finding the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your family decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. 15th-floor ocean-view studio with pool, hot tub, AC & WiFi - snowbird-friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the rental manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
