Our top Vacation rental home tips:
Find your best deal:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Wow, 16th floor views of nice pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your trip.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
