Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your group agree to trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Wow, 16th floor views of nice pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
