How to get the best rental experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Beach is Only Walk Away has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of issues.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
