Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the best value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best rental within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the rightvacation home:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. New King Honeymoon Modern Decor Great,Monterey Bay has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, call the host before you book the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
