Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. New King Honeymoon Modern Decor Great,Monterey Bay has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
