Tips for getting the perfect rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To get the best value, try changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and choose the bestvacation home:

  • Start by choosing your trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. New High Floor, Direct Sea Watch, King Bed, Decor! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

Additional considerations:

  • Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
