Strategies for getting the perfect rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your family select the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beautiful Five Bedroom Beach House with Elevator in the Golden Mile Section! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
