Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First, have your family decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. 4br Presidential Condo Luxury Family Fun on Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
