Rental home tips and tricks:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- To get the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful new home, 3 Bed 2.5 bath, 4min walk to beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Have a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
