Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Begin by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. REDUCED SUMMER WEEKS at Beautiful Ocean Reef Resort 1219 has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
