How to find the best rental experience:
Get the best value:
- To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking the rightrental home:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to the best dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Beautifully Renovated 1 Bedroom Suite! Stunning Oceanfront Views- St. Clements 704 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
