Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectrental:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Bluewater Resort V408A has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your trip.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
