Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning and picking your prefectrental:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Rush to the Beach for your Oceanfront Vacation has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Advice for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
