Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Stunning Ocean View King Suite w\/ Balcony + Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your group.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your family vacation.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
