Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. SD-1444 - Snowbird specials are now available! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
