How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and choose the bestrental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. SD-1444 - Snowbird specials are now available! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
