Our top Vacation rental home tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your dates and spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. SKYLIGHT BRIGHT!! Great view! Steps from the Beach! Sleeps 6-8. Free WiFi! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
