Rental property booking tips and tricks:
When to go & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. SKYLIGHT BRIGHT!! Great view! Steps from the Beach! Sleeps 6-8. Free WiFi! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
