Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to select the perfect vacation home:
- Begin by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Bright & Airy Beachside House has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many concerns.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
