Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose the rightrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Updated 3BR w\/ Oceanviews on MB Boardwalk! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what is suitable for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home.
