Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Summer 2025@Brighton 3BD\/3BTH\/3 Balconies-O\/F Views N,S,E,W Sunrise to Sunset has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is optimal for your vacation group.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
