Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Calming Ocean View King Bed Accessible 4th Flr has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
During your stay:
- Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
