Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning and picking the rightrental:
- First, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Cayman Waves! Sleeps 6, balcony with OCEAN and POOL view! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
