Tips to get the best vacation rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Make a plan and pick the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Charming 2 Bedroom Condo at oceanfront Marriott OceanWatch Villas at Grande Dune has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
