Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Charming 4-bed Beach house in enchanting Myrtle Beach with AC, WiFi has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that damages aren't linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
