Finding the best rental experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Finding the perfect rental home:
- To start, have your group decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pelican's Landing Unit 133 - Courtyard view has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you crave, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
