Vacation rental tips:
Find your best deal:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by having your group agree to date ranges and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Coastal Calm
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
