Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Ocean Views 2X Covered Patios Walk to Restaurants has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
