Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean View 2X Covered Patios (By Beach Star) has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Tips to have a great stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
