Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Views 2X Covered Patios Walk to Restaurants has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
