Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the largest vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Choosing the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Direct Oceanfront 3BR\/2BA, Park on same level as condo has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
