Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental home experience:
When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First, have your family agree to trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Close to the beach #1 Lovely 2 bedrooms condo! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
