How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- To find the best rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and choosing the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes Lazy Lobster Cottage has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.

- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
