Booking the best rental experience:
Finding your perfect vacation home:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.
How to choose the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. PET-FRIENDLY, GOLF CART PROVIDED, LINENS INCLUDED IN PRICE FROM MAY 18-SEPT.6 has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
