Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.

How to choose the perfect rental:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Coastal Escape: 1BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
