How to find the best vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- To book the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the perfect rental home:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Coastal Escape: 1BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
