Strategies to get the optimal rental home experience:
Find your best deal:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- To get the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Spacious Modern Condo One Block to the Beach ???? Pool ???? has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. text the property manager right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
