Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the rightrental:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Spacious Modern Condo One Block to the Beach ???? Pool ???? has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
- Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
