Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- To get the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Finding the best rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select vacation week and budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. B332 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Coastal Haven Retreat has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
