How to get the best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. B332 at The Myrtle Beach Resort: Coastal Haven Retreat has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Speak to the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
