Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Meridian Plaza Unit 1402 - Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
More considerations:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. message the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
