Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Some hosts offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing the best vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family select vacation dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Meridian Plaza Unit 1402 - Oceanfront has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
