Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First, have your group commit to dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Myrtle Beach area condo with ocean view, pool, elevator, public beach access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your invoice.
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- During check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
