Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Palm Sands I, 3 BR Beachfront w\/Corner Wraparound Balcony, has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before reserving the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
